Apartment buildings in Tallinn Estonia.

Catherine the Greats palace and gardens in Tallinn Estonia.

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. (Tallinn Estonia)

Dome Hill ( Old Town) in Tallinn Estonia.  An old fortress with beautiful towers, churches and cobblestone streets. Where the old meets the new with lots of history blended in.  An accessible tour took us sight seeing.  We were able to get out and take pictures and do a little exploring.  The churches were not accessible.  The town square was fairly accessible.

Your first obstacle when entering St. Petersburg Russia.  This is right outside the customs office.  It is about three inches high.  Easy in a manual chair.  More difficult in a power chair. ( Certainly wouldn't take much to to slope it.)

One of the old palaces along one of the 60 rivers that run through St. Petersburg Russia.  The rives are used for transportation

As we found out on our tour, if you are disabled you either are sent to an institution or it is up to your family to take care of your needs.  There are no accessible cars, taxis or buses in St. Petersburg.  We did have an accessible van for our tours. It pays to plan ahead with a Certified Accessible Travel Specialist.

The two pictures to the left show our accessible van. There were three wheelchairs users, three caregivers, a driver and a guide.  Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English.

This is one of the street in Helsinki.  Not all were as challenging.  Some did have curb cuts.

Buckingham Palace as viewed from the London Eye.

This is the Old Palace.  Now it is an apartment building.  Viewed from the London Eye, which is wheelchair accessible.

Another view of the old palace, now an apartment building in London.

Wheelchair lifts across the street from our ship in Copenhagen to access shopping.

Guard outside the palace in downtown Copenhagen.  He took his job very seriously.  We saw two men sit on the steps and he was up and armed very quickly.

Cathedral of the Spilled Blood.  Started in the 17th century. Finished in 1907.Many wanted to tear it down because it reminded them of the tzar.  It is such a tourist attraction that they have left it.  It is used mainly for storage.

Jerry and Kristy, Maria and Elizabeth, and John and Elly enjoying their tour of Peterhof.  ( Peter the Great's palace outside of St. Petersburg Russia.)

Westminster Abbey and Big Ben.  Accessible taxis available.
